Overview & Description:
The NOC Technician is responsible for real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of the Core, NSS, and BSS network elements to ensure optimal network performance and service availability. The role supports incident management, KPI monitoring, preventive maintenance, and coordination with internal teams and vendors to maintain service continuity in a 24/7 operational environment.
Responsibilities:
More specifically, the role will include:
- Monitor Core, NSS, and BSS network elements to ensure service availability and performance.
- Track and analyze network KPIs and performance indicators; escalate abnormalities as required.
- Perform first-line troubleshooting and incident handling within agreed SLAs.
- Conduct routine health checks and preventive maintenance on network systems.
- Support integration activities, including new element deployment, software upgrades, and capacity expansion.
- Liaise with Core and Radio vendors for incident resolution and follow-up.
- Assist in implementing change management procedures on network platforms.
- Coordinate with USSD providers to support new service implementation.
- Provide technical support to B2B, Marketing, and Customer Care teams regarding network-related issues.
- Support reconciliation activities with BI and interconnect teams as required.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience with current network operation.
Experience:
- Good knowledge of Telecom Core and Radio Networks.
- Understanding of Packet Core, IN Billing, PCRF, SIP services, and USSD platforms.
- Familiarity with leased lines and fiber optic networks.
- Basic understanding of UMTS, LTE (FDD/TDD), and microwave technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic database tools.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment.
