Kids Dream Ice Cream is a Liberian Startup Company that specializes in creating delicious and innovative treats for children and youths. In addition to our wide variety of ice cream flavors, we also offer fast food, pastries, and a safe and fun ice cream parlor. We seek to offer safe playgrounds and recreation areas for children and families to enjoy.

KDIC was started in 2019 as a Sole Proprietorship Company but incorporated as a Subsidiary of the TALWA Group of Companies in 2023. At KDIC, we believe that childhood is a time for exploration, creativity, and fun. That's why we're dedicated to creating a fun and safe environment for children to play, while also promoting healthy living and social responsibility through our business practices.

We have a small but effective workforce of about sixteen (16) people (direct hires), about twelve (12) indirect hires, and several others through the value chain. KDIC Ice Cream is sold in about seventeen (17) locations (Supermarkets & Minimarts) in Montserrado and Margibi Counties.

Overview & Description:

The Cashier is responsible for handling all customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale (POS). The cashier provides excellent customer service, ensuring that all guests are greeted warmly, orders are processed quickly, and payments are handled correctly. Additionally, the cashier helps maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area and assists with minor customer queries related to the menu or store policies.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, friendly, and able to handle high-pressure situations during peak hours.

Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with any questions regarding the menu.
  • Provide information about daily specials or promotions.
  •  Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate them to the manager if necessary.

2. Transaction Handling:

  •  Accurately process cash, credit/debit/Visa cards, and digital payments for customer orders.
  • Ensure the correct price is charged for each order and return the correct change.
  • Issue receipts to customers and manage refunds or void transactions when necessary.

3. Order Processing:

  • Input customer orders into the POS system quickly and accurately.
  •  Communicate special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen team as required.
  • Ensure that take-out and dine-in orders are processed efficiently and in a timely manner.

4. Cash Management:

  •  Maintain a balanced cash register by tracking payments and receipts during shifts.
  • Perform cash register opening and closing procedures, including counting money, securing deposits, and reporting discrepancies.
  •  Keep track of any coupons or discounts used by customers and apply them correctly.

5. Front-of-House Cleanliness:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter, cashier station, and dining area.
  • Ensure that condiment stations, napkin holders, and self-service areas are fully stocked and clean.
  • Clean and sanitize the counter, register, and other high-touch areas regularly.

6. Promotions and Upselling:

  • Inform customers about new products, special offers, or promotions to encourage upselling.
  • Suggest additional items or beverages to complement customer orders.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Relay customer feedback to the appropriate team members, including compliments or complaints about the food and service.

8. Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling, security, and financial integrity.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene practices in line with company and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. University degree in Accounting is an added advantage
  • Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service roles is an asset but not required.

Additional Information:

Working Condition:

  • Must be able to stand for extended period of time while serving customers
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, or evening hours.
  • May be required to assist in other areas of the restaurant or parlor, including light cleaning or assisting other staff as needed.

Key Competencies

  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems and handling various payment methods.
