Company Overview:

Talwa HR Solutions is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients for the below position. Our client is a licensed financial institution regulated by the Central Bank of Liberia with operations spanning over 20 countries worldwide, including but not limited to Nigeria, Canada, and Sierra Leone.

Overview & Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall business strategy, market growth, and operational success of the company’s operations in Liberia. He/she will oversee all aspects of the business, including remittance services, foreign exchange, payment solutions, agency banking, and compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in fintech, banking, or sales and distribution within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Market Expansion:

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the business in remittance, payments, collections, and digital banking.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with financial institutions, fintech firms, and regulatory bodies to drive business growth.
  • Conduct market research to assess customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in Liberia.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to increase customer acquisition, retention, and transaction volume.

2. Agency Network Development:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a nationwide network of agents and financialservice providers.
  • Ensure agents comply with the company’s standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Expand the company’s footprint by onboarding new agents and strengthening partnerships with existing ones.

3. Operational Leadership 

  • Oversee daily business operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and high service quality.
  •  Implement and optimize operational policies, workflows, and financial controls.
  • Work closely with internal teams to improve service delivery, transaction processing, and system reliability.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure full compliance with the Central Bank of Liberia’s regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor and mitigate financial risks, fraud, and regulatory challenges. Stay updated on changes in financial policies and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

5. Team Leadership & Organizational Development:

  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team across business development, operations, compliance, and customer service.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Conduct training programs to enhance team skills and ensure alignment with company goals.

6. Stakeholder Engagement & Brand Representation:

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulators, banks, and fintech partners.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to strengthen the company’s brand and market presence.

7. Data Analytics & Performance Monitoring:

  • Track business performance metrics, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Provide regular reports to the executive team on business growth, operational challenges, and strategic recommendations.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine business strategies and optimize decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage. 
  • 10+ years of experience in fintech, banking, or sales & distribution, with about 5 of those years in a similar role or at a senior management level.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry and regulatory frameworks in Liberia.
  • Proven experience in managing operations, business development, and agency networks.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience in digital banking, fintech solutions, or cross-border payments is a plus.
